Who is responsible for an adequate
energy supply?
Although we have been able to rely on the traditional energy suppliers to date, without oil they cannot guarantee future power supplies.
› Electricity producers (still) consider it hardly feasible to replace the 10% of nuclear power with renewable energy within a useful period of time. For electricity producers, the idea that it will be necessary to replace 55% of energy produced from oil, and that electricity will have to play a leading role here, seems to be a non-starter.
› Petroleum, coal and gas companies operate their business in the extraction and distribution of raw materials very successfully. Any solution that makes pipelines and filling stations superfluous is therefore perceived by them as a threat.
› Politicians and authorities can only define the frameworks for secure future energy supplies. The end of oil is not (yet) on the political agenda.
Conclusion: We alone can avert the emerging energy crisis within a realistic period of time.
